Key Tax Planning Tips to Know at the End of the Year

by | Nov 6, 2024 | Member Spotlights | 0 comments

Despite money being something all of us deal in, and taxes being something all of us deal with—both topics are also not understood deeply by most of us. When not engaged enough with important topics such as these—the two best courses of action are to gain independent knowledge, and/or to find someone trustworthy who already possesses it.

Today’s presenter, member Angie Finch of Angie Finch, C.P.A., delivers in both of these areas, greatly. As a certified public accountant, she has all of the knowledge required to navigate the tax code, optimally and to the highest ethical standard—and it’s information she likes to share.

She also works closely with professionals at a nearby planning firm to help businesses and individuals with their tax planning year-to-year, mostly enjoying when she gets to consult with small businesses as they go over their early growth humps too.

For today’s presentation, she emphasized looking at total professional or business earnings at year’s end, and consulting with a CPA about how to best allocate them between various retirement accounts or asset purchases. Large asset sales and Roth conversions are also activities that can incur large tax liabilities, so she recommends connecting with her to best plan the timing and process of those transactions as well.
