On Taxes: Find Someone You Can Trust to Know the Rules for You

by | Feb 11, 2026 | Member Spotlights | 0 comments

Tax law changes constantly. The challenge isn’t just hearing about the updates—they are everywhere—the challenge is understanding when and how they might actually affect you, your family, or your business.

This week, Angie Finch of Angie Finch, C.P.A. led us through an engaging personal-and-professional quiz designed to do exactly that. Using questions about the recently passed “Big Beautiful Bill,” she highlighted several changes that could directly impact small business owners and families—while also sprinkling in a bit about her professional background, business history, and family.

From updates to the Child Tax Credit and SALT deduction increases, to clarifying what is—and isn’t—taxed when it comes to Social Security, overtime, and tips, Angie’s approach was simple: understand beyond the headlines—and act best according to your situation.

She also reminded business owners of key deadlines, like the March 15 filing date for certain entities. Awareness and proactivity alone can be big preventers of stress or penalty.

But the deeper message wasn’t about memorizing facts. It was to have a trusted CPA who stays current on the law, interprets it correctly, and helps clients take positive action—so opportunities aren’t missed and surprises are minimized.

When tax policy shifts, preparation matters. And having someone in your corner who understands both the technical details and your personal goals makes all the difference. Connect with Angie to consult on your situation if it feels like this applies to you.

If you value professionals who combine knowledge with proactive guidance, Border to Border Business Connections is a great place to be. Come visit next week; all are welcome to join us!
