Projects for Protecting What’s Important

by | May 8, 2024 | Member Spotlights | 0 comments

We’ve all heard the old cliche stemming from a famous Napoleon quote, “if you want something done right, do it yourself.” At times this wisdom rings profoundly true—but more often than not, the difficult work is better left to the professionals. This is obvious, but the conflict arises in asking—where does one draw that line?

Today’s first-time presenter and newest active member, Professional Handyman Scott Doree of Andor Maintenance Solutions, provided help with this dilemma from a home or building owner’s perspective—but also illustrated it with his own journey out of working for others into an entrepreneurship role where he is able to deliver customer experiences that truly meet his own standard.

Scott started his inaugural presentation with his ‘Why’— photos of the people who matter to him most. He then shared the story of launching his business with his wife Michelle as a full partner, and ended with some wonderful examples to help answer the self-servicing question this write-up started with.

So when should skilled work be left to experts? The beauty of working with a skilled interdisciplinary maintenance professional like Scott is that he can look at your building issue that may be ongoing and give you an accurate assessment of just how much expertise may be needed to adequately solve the problem: Is it a root cause to other issues or does it have a separate root cause? Is there an unknown risk or difficulty to the fix? What does law and building code require?

Whether your budget is better-spent on general skilled labor, specialized labor, a quick fix, or saving for the next full upgrade—Scott can assess your roofing, siding, flooring and building maintenance issue and help deliver the best long-term solution to meet your budget and goals.

With a wide set of skills and broad network of professional connections—Andor Maintenance is your go-to solution for building maintenance and repair needs. Connect with Scott today to begin your next project!

To connect with local businesses and hear or potentially deliver more great presentations like Scott’s, visit one of our meetings any time, and consider joining to become a member!
