Your Home Transaction Should Feel Like Hitting a Bingo

by | Dec 6, 2023 | Member Spotlights | 0 comments

Have you ever gone through a process and afterward felt like you won out, by chance, without even fully realizing at the time? This is how any major purchase or life decision should feel. After all, no one wants to ‘lose’ when the stakes are high.

Since a home is the most expensive single thing most people will purchase in their lives, it’s not a transaction we recommend leaving the details for to chance.

This week, our group’s expert Realtor and member Travis Otto of Cornerstone Real Estate used a game of ‘Bingo’ to educate us on details of the service we should receive every time dealing with a skilled and thoughtful agent.

For instance:

Did you know that Realtors have a fiduciary duty—meaning they are legally bound to act in your best financial interest—in every transaction?

And did you know your agent must pursue 6 hours of continuing education each year to maintain their license?

And they should be able to produce a reasonable estimate for you of the cash you should have available after selling your house and paying off debts and all other associated costs, before working with them?

We also got some key insights after the game relating to how an ongoing legal battle might affect the profession and its cost structuring—probably the core feature of a future presentation.

If you’re interested in working with someone who knows the ins-and-outs of their profession, and works passionately in service to their clients, connect with Travis to list or shop for your next home today.
